update

as you may, or may not, have noticed ... this blog has gone un-updated for, well, way too long. let's blame it on me entering the "real world," having a full-time job that sucks the blogging energy out of me. but, don't worry, i still share my thoughts on all things entertainment all the time at twitter and on my tumblr -- so feel free to follow me there. i won't delete this blog, but i don't know if or when i might start it up again. stay tuned.

day 4.90 - 4.11

guys, i know.
i've been a super blogger slacker. i know. i know. i know. it's because this has been happening -- i've been spending my nights writing and producing those tvreplay videos for aol and huffington post. but, don't fret. i'm back in the blogging game ... here's what i love (this week).

the song

i never knew i needed to hear sia and flo rida on the same track, but i did. ok, i would be really happy if this song was re-edited to just be sia, but you gotta compromise sometimes, right? this song makes me ready for summer.

the show

if you're looking for a random kids' show to spend some time on -- and, let's be honest, who isn't -- then check out nick's new series how to rock.

the movie

this movie. i mean, anything that ends with the line "i say, fuck the shit out of me" is good in my book.

the look
so, does no one ever tell her, "no?"

day 4.89

what i love (this week)

the song

i'm ready for summer. or at least spring break. alphabeat's new song, "vacation," isn't helping.

the show

with desperate housewives on its way out, i needed a guilty pleasure replacement. gcb doesn't quite fill the void, but it's still wickedly entertaining.

the movie

jennifer aniston and paul rudd. together. in a movie. how can you not love? wanderlust mixes the right amount of heart and hilarity.

the look
my prayers have been answered: lilo is back to red! now hopefully her facial fillers start to fade...

March 10, 2012

4.86 - 4.88

:(
sorry, i'm not sorry.

March 8, 2012

day 4.85

this girl

drew tabor, guys. drew tabor. check out her awesome cover of lana del rey's "radio" (above) and subscribe to her youtube channel here. next big thing.

March 7, 2012

day 4.84

bon qui qui's back

remember when we were all obsessed with that king burger sketch from madtv? well, the lady who brought bon qui qui to life, anjelah johnson, has resurrected the ghetto goddess and released a track - "i'm a cut you."

March 6, 2012

day 4.83

it's like the '90s, guys!

in their follow up to "the boy is mine," brandy and monica underwhelm with "it all belongs to me." but, hey, what can you expect?

March 4, 2012

day 4.81

what i love (this week)

the song

guys, i'm on a fun. kick. can't stop, won't stop. don't wanna stop. seriously, buy the whole some nights album.

the show

lindsay killed it on snl. ok, she kind of killed it. ok, this was the episode's one shining moment and they didn't even give her the good lines. but still, the new old lindsay lohan is back!

the movie

this was basically a lifetime movie that made it to theaters, and i'm ok with that.

the look
at least the snl photo shoot went well, right?

February 29, 2012

day 4.77

she returns!

the promos for lindsay lohan's fourth outing as host of saturday night live hit the interwebs today and did two things to me -- made me incredibly excited (i mean, all her hosted-shows have been top notch ... i mean, she was in the first "debbie downer" sketch) and google "cheek implants." seriously, what is going on with her face? and why has no one sat her down and explained bangs and blonde do not a redhead make? i guess it's one step at a time - sobriety, then redhead. what didn't make me so excited was this promo (below) for lilo's interview with matt lauer set to air tomorrow on today. did she really just say whitney houston's death didn't resonate ... at all? someone dropping dead at 48 after a public battle with drugs and alcohol didn't resonate at all? really? lohan appears very uncomfortable in interviews -- a far cry from her pre-public meltdown days. maybe the full length talk will be better? let's hope. let's also hope her cheeks settle by saturday.

February 28, 2012

day 4.76

i was introduced to this today...

and now i can't stop. a mash-up of mgmt's "kids" and the beatles' "in my life." can't stop, won't stop.

February 27, 2012

day 4.75

better than the oscars

i'm living for this today.

meet carrie bradshaw, circa 1980something
annasophia robb is one lucky lady today. the soul surfer star landed one of the most coveted roles this pilot season - carrie bradshaw in the cw's sex and the city prequel series, the carrie diaries. the charlie and the chocolate factory beauty reportedly beat out emma roberts for the plum part. robb will play high school carrie, as she explores love, sex, friends and manhattan all for the first time. if this goes to series (which, who are we kidding, it will), robb will no doubt become a megastar (think gossip girl's blake lively). the series isn't expected to feature miranda, samantha or charlotte - at least not right away - so robb will get the satc spotlight for a few seasons. i'd say this is spot on casting ... and i can't wait to see her all '80s-ed out in jordache and the like.

February 26, 2012

day 4.74

what i love (this week)

the song

reminds me of the 90s, in the best of ways.

so i don't really have a show or movie i'm loving this week. leave suggestions if you think i should be watching something i'm not.

the look
the leg seen 'round the world.

February 25, 2012

day 4.72 - 4.73

this

adele meets whitney meets bruno mars meets florence and the machine.

February 23, 2012

day 4.71

i'm, like, totally bugging
because this happened. cher and elton together again. well, alicia silverstone and jeremy sisto on the set of his abc sitcom, suburgatory, on which alicia is guesting. yes. yes. yes.

February 22, 2012

day 4.70

movie review: this means war

for the past couple of weeks, i've been treating myself to a movie. and by "treating myself" i mean i go alone to the theater on wednesday afternoons, drink a medium coke and laugh/cry/feel emotions amongst the geriatric crowd that favors a weekday matinee. so far, i haven't reviewed any because my policy (on this blog) is usually, if i didn't see it opening weekend, it's too late to review it. but i'm throwing my rule book out the window for this means war. i don't understand why this movie didn't open bigger. it. is. hilarious. i won't bore you with too many details, but the flick follows fdr (star trek's chris pine) and tuck (inception's tom hardy), two cia operatives, as they vie for the attention of the same girl (reese witherspoon as lauren), all while trying to take down an obscure, eastern european criminal. mcg directed war, taking the same tongue-in-cheek approach to action comedy he did in the charlie's angels movies. war's most quotable- and memorable- moments come from chelsea handler, playing witherspoon's horndog housewife of a bff, trish. for example, after discussing (loudly) when lauren should bed both guys in the middle of a playground, she tells the other mothers, "it's the birds and the bees, bitch. google it." how can you not love that? while this won't win any awards (maybe a razzie if they're feeling especially mean), it'll keep you entertained. plus, it passes my "please be less than two hours or i'm going to die at this movie" rule.

February 21, 2012

day 4.69

so this happened...

so, taylor swift can be funny? and they sing!

February 20, 2012

day 4.68

rihanna, chris brown set back domestic violence movement
um, what pr team let this happen. it's no secret that three years ago chris brown beat rihanna, sending her to the hospital and forcing both stars to pull out of the 2009 grammys. it's also no secret that rihanna publicly pled to never go back to brown, telling barbra walters it would set a bad example for her young fans. but now it looks like rihanna might be eating her words - a little bit. there's no confirmation that the duo is back together romantically (in fact, tmz has plenty of pics of brown and his new girlfriend frolicking on the beach) but they are together musically. in honor of rihanna's birthday, the duo each released remixes of their new singles, featuring the other. rihanna dropped a full-length version of "birthday cake," and brown premiered a new version of "turn up the music." my biggest problem here? both songs are so catchy that they'll get plenty of radio play -- and people will probably forget about what happened.

"birthday cake"

"turn up the music"

sometimes i wish i were famous...

so i could do stuff like this with my other famous friends, ya know? selena gomez, justin bieber, ashley tisdale and the boys of big time rush (amongst others) got together to create a viral video for their friend, canadian pop star carly rae jepsen's new single "call me maybe." the song is catchy, but the video's better.

February 19, 2012

day 4.67

what i love (this week)

the song

nicki releases a song the same caliber of "super bass." finally.

the show

this. show. this. show. it's like crack to me.

the movie

things the movie the vow will teach you: channing tatum is not an actor. rachel mcadams is an actress. rachel mcadams is also hollywood's favorite choice to play the daughter of the one percent.

the look
this is happening, so...
