real housewives: a change is a coming
since losing project runway last year, bravo has thrown all their weight behind the real housewives franchise. what started as just one show has now become a 4 show franchise with 2 new series set to launch this year. while the washington, d.c. cast is still under wraps (minus the white house crashing couple), we now know who will be causing drama in beverly hills. this cast goes back to the original (and by original i mean the oc) formula of 5 ladies. so who are these ladies? well, when i saw the list i recognized 4 out of 5 names to some degree - they are kim and kyle richards, the sisters of hilton matriarch kathy (they're the 3 in the picture above); adrienne maloof-nasiff, the sister of the men who own the palms in vegas and the sacramento kings basketball team and wife to dr. paul nasiff of dr. 90210 fame; camille grammer, the wife of frasier star kelsey; and lisa vanderpump-todd, who apparently owns restaurants. can you tell the one i didn't know? bravo hasn't told us when the beverly hills season will premiere, but my guess is sometime this summer - at the end of either new jersey or atlanta's new seasons. speaking of atlanta, that cast may be facing a shake-up sometime soon. arguably the most popular of the franchise, the real housewives of atlanta may be losing the second of its original stars. lisa wu-hartwell will reportedly be leaving the series sometime during its upcoming season. while lisa will appear in some episodes this summer, she will be phased out in order to introduce new player phaedra parks, a high powered attorney in the atl. wu-hartwell isn't being forced out - like season one star deshawn snow who wasn't invited back after being labeled boring - her leave is more circumstantial: she doesn't live in atlanta anymore. lisa and her husband, former nfl star ed, moved some 40 minutes outside of the city, making it hard to plan the logistics of filming the show. bravo hasn't made an official announcement about the replacement, but that's probably because they want to save the drama for the show. when cast members have left the other real housewives brands, it's almost always done on screen. i guess all i can say is stay tuned.
