day 140

chris brown beat her down heads to court
in the ongoing saga of rihanna and chris brown (it looks like they're finally separated for good), c breezy pled not guilty today in relation to the charges brought against him in relation to the february assault.  how he can plead not guilty is beyond me, but his legal team is apparently in the process of hammering out a crazy plea deal that would let the r&b crooner off pretty much scotch free. they want to avoid a court case as much as possible. surprisingly, rihanna is cooperating with chris' team. everyone appears to want the plea deal to occur and for the whole ordeal to go away into the hollywood wasteland.  i guess that's good - get all the press off the duo and let them get back to their lives as normally as possible.  but it seems like chris should still get some punishment for it; has he learned his lesson?  i don't know but i hope so.

taylor swift is magic
each year at the academy of country music awards, taylor swift brings it.  i don't have much to say about this performance other than it's really cool.  because the show was held in vegas, taylor recruited acclaimed magician david copperfield to help her make a grand entrance onto the stage sunday night.  taylor magically appeared in a floating box above the stage before heading to the piano to perform her latest single, "you're not sorry."  taylor also picked up the crystal milestone award for helping bring country music back into the mainstream and reinvigorating the youth's interest in the genre.  click here, also, to see taylor as part of the opening number of the 2009 acms.  brooks and dunn leads the number with their hit "play something country."  in between the verses they were accompanied by some of country's biggest names singing something country, including taylor, sugarland, carrie underwood, and rascal flats. another performance to check out is miley cyrus' "the climb." the disney star actually seemed like a real country star when performing the lead single from the hannah montana movie soundtrack.  plus the whole stair lift was just cool.
