day 332

blurbity blurbs
here's some small stories floating around right now ... taylor swift is set to host saturday night live on november 7th. this will be swift's second appearance on the show and her first attempt at hosting. while snl hasn't been all that great this season (it's actually been pretty lame), i'm guessing that taylor will be able to brighten the show a little. and i cannot wait to see the show's take on the whole kanye west fiasco. taylor said she hopes to incorporate some of the funnier things that have happened in her life in recent months, so i can't see the writers passing up an opportunity to poke fun at that ... it looks like the saga of jon and kate will finally becoming to an end. well, at least on tv. the new york post is reporting that tlc has officially run out of new material to craft episodes after jon halted production on the show when it was announced that it would be retitled (just) kate plus 8. while i'll be sad to not hear the mispronunciations of the word alligator and the phrase "my buddy," this is probably best for everyone involved. the show has become such a spectacle and seemingly staged that it's just not fun to watch anymore. plus, kate has a development deal with the network and is apparently working on a show just centered on her. no word on whether or not it's a docu-series again, but it will help tlc keep the gosselin "brand" alive ... and finally, it looks like the spice girls are reuniting once again. last year, the 90s girls group reunited for a world tour that was supposed to serve as the goodbye they never got to give their fans. but, now, it seems like the 5 girls have been bitten by the creativity bug again. however, the manner we get to see the spice girls again may be a little different. britain's daily mirror is reporting that geri (ginger spice) wants to develop a stage musical about the group's rise to fame. basically, it would be a shallower, modern, and female version of jersey boys. if the show actually takes off, i'd be surprised. there is bound to be an audience for this, but i don't see it as a long lasting stage show. currently in development, geri and her bandmates are reportedly seeking out 5 unknown actresses to take on their personas. should be interesting. without a name attached, the show is even less likely to garner attention beyond the whole spice girls thing.
