day 200

full house on the full screen
that is if john stamos has his way.  the now out-of-work actor (his latest show, er, went off the air in april) is looking for something new to develop and, like the rest of hollywood, he doesn't have any fresh ideas.  stamos is looking to bring the show that launched his career - the syndication friendly full house - into a feature length film.  in john's world, the flick would basically be a relaunch of the franchise, taking inspiration from the early seasons of the 1987-1995 series.  while nothing has actually been done to get this project rolling, stamos does have some casting ideas in mind - involving none of the original cast.  “i see steve Carell as danny tanner and tracy morgan as joey gladstone because he’s funny,” stamos reportedly said.  and in his role of uncle jesse?  james franco!  he's got big dreams.  but, if that cast can come together, i'm all for the relaunch!  and i can totally see the olsen twins making cameos (if they can get over their egos).  who else should be in the cast?  i would guess they'd find unknowns for the 3 daughters, though the dj character would be old enough for a "name" to play.  i just hope it's not miley cyrus.  there's no word if anyone else is actually interested in working on the project; at the least i can see abcfamily buying the rights to it (because they are the network that plays full house seemingly non-stop).  if the movie doesn't work out, don't expect a tv reunion in its place; stamos says he doesn't see the cast getting together anytime soon.  boo!

hills-relatedness
while i think the show is dead (no lauren conrad means the end, no?), the hills is still making tons of news.  well at least the people related to the show are.  reports broke today that new "star" kristin cavallari will be making $63,000 an episode - only two-grand less than lauren conrad.  really mtv?  your back-up is banking just as much as the original in a show that's on its last legs?  interesting.  does mtv really expect us to buy that kristin's entrance is natural?  completely unstaged?  either way, cavallari's eps begin airing this fall in what will most likely be the hills (thankfully) final hoorah.  as for heidi and spencer, they're still being toyed around in the costa rican jungle.  the terrible twosome's fate - after they quit i'm a celebrity... and then asked back in - still lies in the hands of their "fellow" competitors and we won't know what will become of them until monday.  though, i'm sure producers will keep them around for the drama.  and possibly joining them in the jungle?  heidi's sister holly.  speidi's fellow hills-mate, holly, has been flown to costa rica and is on hold until her sister and brother-in-law's fate is announced.  either way, she'll be added to the mix of stars in addition to newcomer daniel baldwin.  the show is definitely getting better - i basically just skipped the 2 hour premiere and caught the recap on the second episode.  so, i take back the whole not-watching-this-crap statement from earlier.  with not much on summer tv, it's definitely worth checking out...i think.  if you've missed any of the episodes, mtv is airing a marathon this weekend.  come on, you know you have nothing better to do.

this tv is, actually, full of summer tv.  well, at least sunday.  the tonys air on cbs pretty much all night, while e! premieres kendra (the girls next door spin off) alongside season 2 of denise richards, and lifetime premieres season 3 of army wives.
