day 212

last night
was all about taylor swift. the cmt awards were held last night and t swift was all over them. in addition to winning for best female video and video of the year, taylor performed not one, not twice, but three times last night. the country-pop star opened the show with a "surprise" collaboration with rapper t-pain, in which "t swizzle" showed off her rapping skills - in addition to living out her other "dreams."

taylor took to the stage in the middle of the show to perform her latest hit, "you belong with me." like usual, taylor took inspiration from her music video for the song. the performance was good, but nothing will ever top her "should've said no" performance from last year's acms.

taylor finished off the night by performing with def leppard to their hit "pour some sugar," a song they collaborated on earlier this year on cmt's crossroads, a show that mashes up country artists with rockers/bands from other genres that started after the success of the bon jovi/jennifer nettles (sugarland) duet, "who says you can't go home?"

people's sexiest bachelors
people mixed it up a little this year, changing the name of their annual "sexiest bachelors" list to "hottest bachelors." big change, i know. this year's list is completely focused on young hollywood, another departure from the mag's usual. people's mean audience is women in the 30s, so it's interesting to see them trying to get the younger reader. but, i guess, the magazine has been trying to switch it up lately, with people "extras" focused on disney stars like selena gomez, demi lovato, and the sprouse twins. the list is headed by gossip girl star chace crawford; the only reason he made it to the top has to be his new leading role in the footloose relaunch. gossip girl may be buzzworthy, but it's not a big enough show to garner the cover of the biggest celeb mag. chace dishes on his relationship with carrie undewood - he just wasn't ready to date someone in the spotlight (mmhmm...) - as well as what he's looking for, which is apparently nothing. he says he's not actively looking for a relationship. doesn't he know he's supposed to play towards his audience; women reading the hottest bachelors issue don't want to hear that. chace beat out the likes of shia labeouf, chris pine, robert pattinson, and bradley cooper for the title, those the three of them also made the list. people comes to newstands this friday.
