day 317

the hills comes to a theater near you...sort of
coming off a much talked about season premiere without her, what better time than today for lauren conrad to reveal that her debut novel, la candy, has been optioned for a movie. temple hill entertainment, the people responsible for making twilight into a movie, have optioned candy for a feature film. conrad will be the film's executive producer of the flick through her blue eyed girl production company. as far as i know, this is "blue eyed"'s first deal. ever. apparently, lauren, being the great mind of our generation, came to temple hill with an idea for adapting the film that sets it apart from any other book-to-movie adaptation we've ever seen before. it's apparently "separate" and "apart" from the way the book is told, but is still an honest interpretation. fascinating. no word on whether or not temple has optioned the two yet-to-be released books in the series, but if the first is a success, they're sure to follow up. this is quite a week for lc. she also launched a new, low-end line of clothes at kohls stores. moving on up.
