ladies and gentleman, it has arrived. britney spears' latest, "hold it against me," made its way onto the internets and radio waves a day earlier than anticipated. you can't download the track until tomorrow, but feel free to listen all night long until itunes posts it at midnight. the song is very dance driven, with synthesized beats and a lot of repetition. it's definitely not spears' best work (which can be found here), but it sounds like britney is headed in the right direction musically. hopefully the rest of britney's album (expected to drop sometime this spring) improves on "hold it against me," because if this is the star track, then i definitely will hold it against spears and her team. the problem is that spears tends to release the strongest track off her album first, letting the other singles ride on the popularity wave of the first single (see: "baby one more time" and "crazy;" "oops...i did it again!" and "stronger;" "i'm a slave 4 u" and "not a girl, not yet a woman," etc.). check out "hold it against me" above and pray for better songs to come.
