um, hi. this is insane. rihanna released the remix to her surprise hit "s&m" today and who does it feature? britney spears. yes, the britney spears. the princess of pop lends her breathy vocals to a retooled version of the sexed-up song. this really should have been the original release, not a remix - especially because it's more just a duet, not a "remix" in the eurotrash dance techno sense of the word. it's virtually identical to rihanna's original version, with the addition of a new britney-only version, and miss spears taking some of riri's original lyrics. this songs going to be all over the radio - i would venture to guess we will never hear the original version ever again over the airwaves. now, we just have to hold out for a music video. while one hasn't been filmed, rihanna said she'd like to do one because, what else, she wants to spank britney.

and, in other britney news, it looks like she won't be flying solo on her upcoming tour. after enrique iglesias backed out, nicki minaj stepped in. the princess of pop and rap's latest and greatest? now the $70+ tickets seem reasonable. the duo need to release a single - or they could follow rihanna's lead and release a remix to one of the new tracks off femme fatale ("gasoline," anyone?) - because the world needs to see britney and minaj take the stage together. asap.
