the sun to set over the hills
next month's fifth season kick off of the mtv hit the hills, as we know it, will be the show's final bow. lauren conrad, the show's star, is on the new cover of seventeen and basically said she's walking away from the cameras, wanting to leave the show when it's still a hot commodity and not when it's died a slow, painful death. that's respectable and all, but what are you going to do for a living? i suspect lauren will be hosting a fashion show or something within the next year to make up for the dividend in missing revenue. check out the trailer for the show's new season above. it looks like all the loose ends we've been seeing unravel over the past few years are getting tied up. it looks like lc and heidi may finally put the past in the past. and is heidi finally ready to rid herself of spencer? probably not. the twosome will most likely get their own spin off once the hills fades into the tv graveyard. and what about audrina? she'll probably get a show on e! or something about her life as an "actress." the show has racked up about 70 episodes and will probably end with around 90, 10 short of typical syndication necessity. however, i see the show living on a la sex and the city, airing on the cw or other network in daytime. what will mtv do once it loses its cash cow? the hills' spinoff the city hasn't taken off as the network hoped, meaning they're going to be stranded without a flagship series. hopefully they'll be able to figure out something one lc's fake reality ends sometime this summer.
that's all i got for the 100th day here on dirty laundry, but check back tomorrow to see what hollywood's up to.
