the ladies of the real housewives of new york are officially set to make their tv return april 7th - more than a month later than bravo originally announced. after being pushed aside for the premiere of the less-than-stellar real housewives of miami, bravo desperately needs the women of new york to remind viewers that the housewives franchise can actually be entertaining. yes, the real housewives of the oc are back, but that show needs a massive overhaul. the real housewives of beverly hills raised the bar for the franchise, and the women of orange county are looking more than a little out of date. while i'd miss vicki's "whoo-hoo's" and tamra's scheming a little, a whole new orange county cast - one that actually involves housewives and real drama - would be a big help. the return of rhony means three housewives series will be on at the same time (ny, oc and mia), plus a housewives spinoff - bethenny ever after. i hate to say it, but there might be too many housewives on tv.
