she's blonde. she's beautiful. and she's going to play katniss? after much speculation, reports are circling that the creative team behind next year's the hunger games film adaptation have finally found their leading lady in oscar nominee jennifer lawrence. while lawrence's fellow oscar nominee hailee steinfeld's name was the one thrown around the most this award season in reference to the role of katniss, i'm not going to complain with this casting choice. while lawrence will most likely have to go brunette for the role, we know she can pull off the living-off-the-land wilderness girl thing (see: winter's bone). i also like going with someone a little older to play the role of 16-year-old katniss; it would be a little jarring to see 14-year-old steinfeld dealing with the death and destruction seen in the series. lawrence's casting is the first step in making this movie finally come together. hopefully she'll sign her name on the dotted line in the next couple of days so that the rest of the cast can be determined.
