the hills comes back to your tv screens september 29th and, as we all know, it has a whole new look. above is the preview for the 6th season of the mtv show, most likely in its final season. kristin cavallari takes the spotlight from lauren conrad, just like she did in the laguna beach era. the trailer is entertaining and all, but the thing i don't understand about this whole switcheroo is how mtv thinks its audience is stupid enough to still believe they're watching reality tv. in no real world (no pun intended) situation can a group of friends pretend like the friend they've had for 5+years just doesn't exist anyone. from the selected clips, it appears as if lauren conrad moved away or died. however, she still lives in the same city and even rooms with lo bosworth, who for some inexplicable reason is still a part of the show. and the introduction of a girl whose tie to the group are that she was frenemies with the former protagonist and dated brody jenner for a split second just aren't enough of an explanation for me. i guess now that mtv has started a scripted series department, which is developing a teen wolf update and a teen knock-off of hbo's hung, they feel all their shows should be completely scripted. they just need to admit it.
